McDonough, Mary Delia died on March 25, 2025, in Lindenhurst, Illinois. Dear sister of Judy McDonough, Kathy (Steve) Aevermann, Ellie (Dan) Thomas, Patty (Christian) Muehleisen and Thomas Edward McDonough, infant brother who preceded her in death; beloved daughter of the late John (Jack) and Dolores McDonough, and proud aunt of Gabe Thomas, Jamie Thomas Dobos and George Thomas. Born in St. Louis, MO in 1961, Mary attended St. Catherine Laboure School and Cor Jesu Academy. She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and also completed a Master of Divinity from Aquinas Institute of Theology. Mary used her tremendous gifts of compassion and faith throughout her career, serving in communications at the Archdiocese of Chicago, as a hospice chaplain with SSM Health in St. Louis, and most recently at The Village at Victory Lakes, a senior living Franciscan community where she served as Director of Pastoral Care for 5 years. She will be deeply missed by her strong, loving network of cousins and relatives, friends, co-workers, and her extensive faith community. Visitation at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel, 450 West Lake Street in Roselle, IL, on Tuesday, April 1 from 3-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1451 Bode Rd in Schaumburg, IL at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2. Burial will take place in St. Louis at Resurrection Cemetery on April 4.
