Lourdes Arriola (nee Ambron), age 61, passed away peacefully at her home on July 21, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, great aunt, and friend. Lourdes was born on March 31, 1963 in Havana, Cuba to Hilda and Abelardo Ambron. She, along with her parents and sister Hilda, fled Cuba to the United States in 1966. Lourdes married her childhood sweetheart, Francisco Hernandez Jr. at only 17 years old. They were married for 17 years and shared two beautiful daughters, Kiki and Jenny. In 2005, she married her love Frank Arriola. They were married for almost 14 years before Frank passed away in 2019. They shared a wonderful life together, always spending time with their grandkids and dog Yogi. Everyone that met Lourdes loved her. She had a positive and upbeat personality with a contagious zest for life. She could talk to anyone and make them feel like her best friend. She brought an energy with her to every room she entered. Lourdes lived for her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren. She spent as much time with them as possible. She would ride rollercoasters, jet skis, play kickball, basketball, and so much more. If her grandkids were doing it; so was she. She was also the family reporter, always keeping everyone in the loop on each other’s happenings. Lourdes is survived by her daughters Kiki (Anthony) Russo, Jenny (Mike) Latino and grandchildren Gabriella, Anthony, Lia, and Vinny. She is also survived by her sister Hilda (Dan) Smith. Her nephew Danny Smith, niece Dina (Jeff) Kading, great nephew Cameron Kading, and cousin Margie Manso.
