Jonathan M. Dura passed away Saturday March 16, 2024 at his home after extended illnesses at the age of 75. He was born April 8, 1948 in Chicago, IL to the late Delores (nee Rogalski) and the late Hillard Dura. Jon was the devoted husband of the late Sara (nee Cinquegrani). Dear brother of Catherine McLain (Robert), the late Christina Overby, James (Peggy), the late Concetta Lewis, Celeste Emerick, Stanley (Nell) and sister-in-law Marie Spratt. He was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed amusement parks, roller coasters and after retirement, spent as much time as he could on the golf course with his buddies. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jon you put up a great fight these past few years and it sadden me to hear of your passing. We had a lot of fun on the golf course on Sundays being cart partners. I know you'll be watching us miss a lot of easy putts and I will hear your voice saying How did that not go in??? Every time I see a golf ball with a logo on it I will think of you. Rest In Peace my friend

Jon - I will miss you and the many, many Saturday mornings we shared a golf cart for ten years playing the local golf courses, talking about our game, Chicago sports, a bit of local politics and more about golf of course. Those times gave me stability, joy, and enjoyment over those hours of time we shared - I think together we mutually felt the same. They cleared my head for the week ahead, helped me during the loss of my wife, and the many other difficulties of life. I hoped they helped you as well. I was so pleased for your hole-in-one last year, I can only imagine the joy that it gave you. And now you’ve moved along, I am sorry I won’t be able to spend time here with you anymore - perhaps somehow, somewhere, it may happen. I wish you peace, the sharing of your new journey with Sara and of course fairways and greens my friend, always fairways and greens forever. To your family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss, Jon was a wonderful soul, a fine friend and true golf partner.

John it was a pleasure to get to know you, share the golf course with you and witness your hole in one. Where you are going you going to card a bunch more of those. Rest in peace.
