Devoted father of Marisa (Ryan) Jungels, Dena Pisani and Lea (Richie) Dazzo; Loving mother of his children, Linda Pisani; Loving son of the late Marino and Laura Pisani; Dear brother of Larry Pisani; Dear grandfather of Kayden, Cooper, Camden, Charlotte, Jackson, Dominic, Carson and Santino (arriving in September); Dear uncle of Gina Fagin, Jill Ball, Tom Ciccotti and Mike Ciccotti. Jerry was a proud Father and Papa. He had a fulfilling career working as a physical education/heath teacher at Eisenhower Junior High School for 34 years. Known by his friends as “Pi”, Jerry was a well respected basketball coach at Eisenhower, and wrestling and football coach at Downers Grove North High School. He was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Los Angeles Lakers and St. Louis Cardinals. In college, Jerry was a member of the TKE fraternity and was known for his great sense of humor. He loved old detective television shows, Las Vegas, and the Rat Pack. There’s a lot more we could say, but his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra, said it best in the song, “Fly Me to the Moon,” when he sang, “In other words, I love you.”

I played for Coach Pi at DGN, and then coached with him at DGN after I graduated college. He was one of the most enjoyable people to learn from, and work with, and I’ll never forget how easy it was for him to make an entire room break out in laughter. He was truly one of a kind, and I’m lucky to call him a friend. I will forever cherish the moments I had with him as both a player and colleague, especially the early morning breakfasts we shared at Omega before Saturday practices. My deepest condolences go out to his family, and may he rest in peace. I will miss you, Pi!

Coach Pi was my wrestling coach in high school and he had a great influence on me. He had a great sense of humor and always found a way to lighten the load. When I would say that I had a pain, like it hurt when I held my arm over my head, Coach Pi would say "well, don't don't do that!". In his own way, he wouldn't allow me to lower my own expectations just because things might be difficult. He always used to say that I didn't have to be good at everything, but if I was excellent at one thing, I would be hard to stop. I think about that often. Thank you Coach. Rest in Peace.

Coach Pi was my wrestling coach all through high school. He convinced my parents to have me go to Downers North after watching me wrestle in Junior High. Coach Pi pushed me than any other coach I had and made me believe I was better than I thought I was. I’ll always remember you Pi!!!!

To the family of coach Pi! My condolences to you all. I had the honor to have him as my football coach and wrestling coach. He was a players coach. Just like one of the guys. Just an overall great man. Always made practice fun and wanting to be there.

Pi was my assistant coach in charge of the sophomore defense. His positive attitude made the most mundane part of practice fun for our players. He demonstrated what a teammate should be. His approach to coaching should be a model for all who have a desire to enter the profession. Players first.

Pi as we used to call Jerry and I pledged TKE together at WIU back in the 1970's and since we were both Italian, we had a special bond during those years. I remember several times when we were together with some of our brothers at TKE, Pi would start telling jokes one after another like some of the old stand-up comedians like Hennie Youngman, he was amazing!!...Then I would start doing a few impressions from the Godfather movie and DeNiro which he loved, so we had our own little comedy show!! All great memories of him that will put a smile on my face, and that I will always cherish! Jerry will be missed by so many, and our prayers and condolences go out to his entire family! RIP Pi!! I went to RB with Jerry but lost touch other than our reunions. Interesting fact ...... I just realized he taught and coached my grandsons and granddaughter at Eisenhower JR high....small world. Condolences to his family.

Coach Pi was my football and wrestling coach. He was a big reason why I have been a coach/teacher for almost 30 years now! Talk about impacting and shaping young lives! Coach gave me my first real job coaching and I loved it. I was still in college, but my senior football season was over, so I became his JV2 coach that winter. After getting hired at rival Glenbard West I coached against him in football and wrestling, but never lost my love or admiration for him. Never will. Eternal thanks Coach Pi.

Impossible to put into words how funny and memorable this guy was during our days at WIU and recently at your Euchre club. For those lucky enough to know him, it was a great privilege and we were fortunate to know him. For thos who never met Pi, we all wish you could have and know you would have felt the same way. Jerry was one of a kind. I’ve never known anyone like him. He was proud of his Italian heritage, was a great friend, and a man who loved his family. You knew exactly where you stood with Pi. He was predictable and would tell you what he thought. If you knew anything about the movie “The Godfather” you could talk with Pi about it for hours. We shared a love of sports, and coached together for more than 20 years. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family as they deal with their loss.
