Words are not big enough to express our profound sorrow at the passing of our beloved Deralyn. She transitioned very gently to heaven with her mom and her sister at her side on March 28, 2024.
Deralyn “loved with a love that was more than a love” Chicago, her numerous friends, her boyfriend, her family and her faithful dog Bijou. Her generosity was boundless and her joy in giving the perfect gift endeared her to many, and in return showered her with love back. Her weapon of choice was optimism and an invincible sunny disposition that was bestowed on everyone she met. Things are always looking up for us was her tagline and those who hung out with her knew her by her nickname Birdy. She was a wonderful daughter, amazing sister and very loving aunt to Maddie and Jackson. At this difficult time we would like to thank her friends for the support and numerous outings over the past 8 months and the compassionate staff at the Northwestern Oncology Treatment Center. Deralyn was born on October 20, 1972 in Evanston, IL. Loving daughter of Eric and Audene (Newman) Gordon. Cherished sister of Megan (John) Sgaramella. Fond aunt of Madeleine and Jackson Sgaramella. Memorial Visitation Saturday April 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Eulogy Service 2:30 p.m.) at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle.
