Colman Patrick Grealish, 71, passed away early in the morning on January 19, 2024 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Colman was born on January 20, 1952 to Colman Grealish and Bridget Grealish (née Conroy) in Loughaconeera County in Galway, Ireland. He proudly served as a plumber and member of Plumbers’ Local 130 UA for 40 years. In 1987, he married his wife Sarah Grealish (née Carment), with whom he had his three children, Conor, Austin and Hannah Barbato (née Grealish). An avid Chicago sports fan, Colman was proud to have seen his favorite teams, the Cubs, Bears and Bulls all win championships during his lifetime. In addition to sports, Colman also loved exercising, grilling, seeing movies and spending valuable time with his family and friends. Colman is survived by his wife, his three children and their spouses, Amanda Munoz, Jennifer Grealish (née Albrecht) and Matthew Barbato, as well as his two grandchildren, and his sisters, Bridget Grealish and Mary Ducharme (née Grealish), as well as multiple nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations made to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org in Colman’s honor.

I met Colman back in the day when I hung out with his sister, Bridget. The entire family was always super welcoming and I do remember spending many fun times, including several holidays with them. I wish the family Peace and Blessings and the healing hands of God in this time of grief.

Saw the sad news of Colmans passing on Local 130 website. I had the profound pleasure of working with him some years past. Besides being a top notch plumber most importantly he was fun to be around. A smile always on his face, contagious laughter and quick wit a great guy. He kept himself in top physical shape as well. Was my good fortune to have crossed paths with him. God bless his family.

Rest in Peace my dear brother, Colman. I will always remember your strength and courage, your laughter, great sense of humor, love of nature, music, all sports and of course good food. I treasure many wonderful memories from attending family weddings and get togethers. Sending prayers for God’s peace and comfort to Sarah, Conor, Austin, Hannah and all the family. You will be missed by all of us. Love, Mary and Brenda

You will always be my favorite Uncle, perhaps because we were closest in age. So cool. So smart. So fun. Remembering the times you came to visit us, when we were young… teaching us how to be healthy (running) and eat well and laugh. You taught us about great music …the Who, and to love our sports…perhaps we sided with Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics, however, the Cubs, Bears and Bulls were never far from my heart…after all I was born in Chi-town! You were blessed with such a great wife in Sarah and three incredibly awesome and fun children in Hannah, Austin and Connor. They all have a great sense of wit, love for family and you. What a blessing to have you with us for all the years after your diagnosis…and what a testament to your courage and strength. Love you so much. You will always be in my heart! XXXOOO Dia dhaoibh
