Bruce Blackstad, age 69, suddenly. Beloved husband of Mary (nee McDevitt) of 38 years. Loving father of Katie (Nick) Ludescher, Sara, and Norine (Robert Jr.) Bansfield. Blessed with two adoring grandchildren, Juliet and Zachary, two more (twins) on the way. Loving son of the late Werner and Esther Blackstad. Loving brother to the late Ruth Hansen, Joyce (Joseph) Quitter, and Paul. Best friend to Buddy, many long walks together and faithful feeder of Hazel, the cat. Longtime employee of ADT (Tyco), retired after 35 years of dedication. Avid golfer, Member of Streamwood Senior League. Visitation Thursday July 18 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon St., Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. Funeral services will conclude following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or Parkinson’s Foundation in Bruce’s name are appreciated. You will be missed Bruce...your girls were lucky to have you as their father..RIP until one day we will all be together again.

Until we see you again Uncle Bruce. So sorry that you had to leave so suddenly. However, I am grateful that we got to spend time together not too long ago. Thank you for the recent conversations and for good but dry humor. May you be forever remembered by your loving family as you will live on in the hearts of those who love you forever.
