Ralph DiCostanzo
Beloved husband of Sandra DiCostanzo, nee Graves; Devoted father of Debbie (Mike) Ventresca, Diane (Jack) Kristie and Denise (Doug) Hopman; Loving son of the late Pasquale “Patsy” and Josephine DiCostanzo; Dear brother of Frank (Susan), Joseph and the late Patsy Vaia; Cherished grandfather of Gina (Dan) Vargas, Marissa Kristie, Lia Kristie, Kylie (Cody) Ingrassia, Nathan Hopman, Nicholas Hopman, the late Alex Ventresca and great grandfather of Danny Vargas Jr. and soon to be Lainey Kay Ingrassia.

Ralph spent 63 years with his beautiful wife, Sandra. There isn’t anyone who knew him better than Sandra. Both known for how they loved to dance together. They never missed watching the Chicago Cubs together. They even enjoyed watching the wheel of Fortune despite how frustrating it was that Sandra always solved the puzzle before him. It was extremely rare they didn’t sit together at the dinner table enjoying a home cooked meal. Ralph and Sandra looked forward to sitting outside on their deck on nice days or evenings talking.

Ralph was known to love sports, including football, baseball, horse racing, and even a little golf. Poker and slots weren’t too far from his love of sports. He didn’t do much travel that required flying. But, you offer going to Vegas with his brother, Frank, he’s packing a bag immediately.

He loved and never missed attending his grandchildren’s events. It might feel very different, but his family will always know he’s watching from heaven above. He was and always will be their greatest fan.

Family was everything to Ralph. He brought laughter, love, compassion, support, guidance, and never missed an opportunity to share how his children and grandchildren made him so proud.

The memories created are endless and will be held in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

1989 I was hired at Biggers Chevy ,I had never sold a car or truck in my life..I was so nervous ,had no idea how I was going to do this .But with the grace of God and perseverance I stuck it out failure was not an option because my two boys and my wife were depending on me to provide..Along came Raphie D he saw something in me I did not know I had in this rough business..He gave me tips on speaking to the clients and having them trust me by being upfront and honest with them..I watched him for a month before I ever took a customer,I tried to be like him.I was salesman of the month 3 times he was very proud of what I had accomplished in one year.I owe all to you God Bless you .

Our sincere condolences for DiCostanzo Family I use to work with Ralph at Biggers Chevrolet . I met him in 1979 and my first day on the job it was Ralph that took me in like a son . After I was there for awhile , I use to call him Uncle Ralph He always had my back and he knew that I would have his . By the time I was 22, I flew to Vegas many times and we would practice cards .He told me , your a young guy and this business is changing and requires a large following to make it . He said “ You are intelligente . He said don’t waste your life here .Then around a month later a finance person said his finance had a friend and they would set us up on a blind date .After that I left biggers .Always remembering Ralph e D. I went and after dating , I brought Tammy in to the store (Biggers) and Ralph said “ You have a good one here! Four years later we married and Ralph was there . Kept in touch through a friend over the years . I owe you one Ralph e See U upstairs someday Ralph e , I’ll bring the cards . Dave e

So very sorry to hear of Ralphie’s passing. My parents, Frank and Phyllis Vaia always enjoyed Ralphie’s company, he was so nice and funny. We lived behind Auntie Pat and Dickie in Wood Dale where we used to have cook-outs that Ralphie and Sandy attended. My boyfriend’s band played at some of them. Always a good time, great memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The Dicostanzo family was part of our family growing up in Streamwood. They treated my two sisters and I like their own. I still remember one day a huge storm was rolling in and my sisters and I were caught outside and ran in Sandy and Ralph's house and all of us sat in the hallway as the storm passed. Man I was scared... I went to visit Ralph and Sandy approx. 5-6 years ago from California with my son who I wanted to introduce. Ralph cried when he saw me and treated my son like his son along with Sandy. It tears me up today. I will miss him, but I have some great childhood memories of everyone. We loved the entire family. What I will miss most about this man is his laugh. I loved to try and make him laugh. I love you Uncle Ralph.
