Nicolas “Nico” Mario Lamb
2004-2025
Age 20
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Nicolas “Nico” Mario Lamb, on February 17, 2025, at the age of 20 from an unknown cardiac medical condition. Nico will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nico was the adored son of Marlene Rossini and Brian Lamb, and the beloved grandson of Robert & Winifred Rossini, Nancy Albrecht, and Grahame Lamb. He was a cherished nephew to Mark & Nicole Mirchevich, Jamie & Jeannette George, and Chris & Mary Kate Albrecht, and a dear cousin to Brooke, Taylor, Kade, Teresa, Veronica, and Michael. Nico was also a proud great-grandson of the late Alva & Mario Rossini and the late Leo & Winnie DePasquale. His unwavering loyalty, kind-hearted nature, and infectious humor made him a trusted and cherished friend to many.
Nico’s life was defined by his passion, dedication, and leadership. He was a proud Eagle Scout with Troop 199 (Villa Park), where he served as past Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Scoutmaster. Nico was also a distinguished Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow (Lodge 41), Scouting’s Honor Society, where he earned the Arrowman of the Year distinction in 2019, the R.D. Dunkin Leadership in Service Award, The Founders Award, and the prestigious OA Vigil Honor for his exceptional commitment and service.
Nico attended Westlake Middle School and Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL. He was a violinist in the orchestra throughout his middle school and high school years, and as a freshman, he played with the Symphony Orchestra at Western Illinois University. Nico served as Vice President of the Glenbard East Concert Orchestra and was recognized with the Livingston Human Relations Award. He made the Honor Roll all eight semesters and served as Service Officer for the National Honor Society. Nico was also a dedicated athlete, competing as a Doubles Player on the Glenbard East JV & Varsity Tennis Team.
As a dedicated honors student at Western Illinois University, Nico majored in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration with a minor in Political Science and was a proud recipient of the Presidential Scholarship. He was consistently recognized for his academic excellence, earning a spot on the Dean’s List. Nico aspired to make a meaningful impact on his community as a prosecutor, with the goal of one day becoming a judge. His sharp intellect, exceptional public speaking skills, and natural leadership abilities made him a standout both academically and personally.
At Western Illinois University, Nico was deeply involved in a wide range of organizations, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to both academics and community. He worked as an Admissions Ambassador for Undergraduate Admissions, served as Vice President of Theta Chi Fraternity, Vice President of Judicial Affairs for the Interfraternity Council (IFC), and was the former Vice President of Lambda Alpha Epsilon (LAE), the American Criminal Justice Association. Nico’s leadership also extended to the WIU Valorant E-Sports Team, where he proudly served as Captain (2022-2023).
In addition to his academic and leadership pursuits, Nico was a leader in the online gaming community, where he ran a server and formed lifelong friendships with people both locally and abroad. His impact was widespread, and his loss is felt deeply by those who knew him.
Nico’s passion for service, community, and leadership was evident in everything he did. His ability to connect with others, offer guidance, and inspire those around him will remain his lasting legacy. Nico touched countless lives with his infectious humor, warm spirit, and boundless energy. His commitment to making the world a better place will continue to inspire those who had the honor of knowing him.
Nico entered this world as an only child, but he was blessed with a vast network of “brothers” and “sisters” who became his extended family. He found a deep sense of belonging, especially within his fraternity, where his brothers cared for him as one of their own. Nico’s heart was as big as his spirit, and he embraced life with a passion that was contagious. His final act of generosity was as an organ and tissue donor, giving the gift of life to others. Nico was eagerly anticipating his 21st birthday in April and was in the process of applying to law school, with dreams of making a lasting impact in his community. Nico is survived by his loving family and countless friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
