Jamie Ann Petzold of Carol Stream unexpectedly passed away, at the age of 61 on May 6, 2020.
Jamie was born on July 6th, 1958 to Marilyn and the late Robert Petzold. Jamie was one of five children: three brothers, Brian (deceased), Garth and John (deceased)) and one sister, Elizabeth. Growing up, Jamie had dreams of becoming a forest ranger. Her love for nature never dulled and she spent much of her life enjoying time outdoors and gardening. Jamie married Bill Nudd in 1981 and had two daughters whom they loved very much. Jamie was extremely kindhearted and had a warm nature, which was evident by the years she spent working in the medical field caring for patients.
Jamie was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She was always able to see the good in people, even during the worst of times. She touched so many lives and provided love and support to anyone who needed it. Jamie would give her last dollar to help out those in need and would sacrifice herself to be there whenever you needed someone. She had the warmest of hearts and kindest of souls. There are no words to describe how deep Jamie’s love for family was and how profound the relationships she built were. Jamie adored her daughters and grandchildren, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. She always had a fun outing or experiment to do with them and tried to make it to all their games and performances. Her unwavering love and support will not be forgotten, and her presence will be missed.
Jamie is survived by her two daughters Emily Thompson and her husband Troy, Tracy Robertson and her husband John, and her four grandchildren; Trey Thompson, Lukas Thompson, Hazel Robertson and Teagan Thompson. She is also survived by her brother, Garth Petzold (Norma) and her sister Elizabeth Cohen (Jay), as well as her mother Marilyn Petzold. She will also be remembered fondly by her countless cousins, in-laws and her nieces and nephews who loved her beyond measure.
Jamie meant so much to so many people. She impacted the lives of everyone she knew. Jamie lived her life helping others. Her love was evident and felt by all, and we all hope that she knew how greatly she was loved and how precious she was to each and every one of us who had the pleasure of her in our lives. We will miss and think of her every day. “The Life given us by nature is short, but the memory of a life well spent is eternal.” (Quote from Cicero)
“You now have sorrow,
but I will see you again,
and your heart will rejoice,
and your joy no one will take from you”
