In loving memory of our beloved father Emilio Gulino who passed away on July 20, 2024 at the age of 93. The void left by his absence runs deep in our hearts.

Born in Italy in 1931, he eventually settled in America in the late 1960’s where his adventurous spirit led him to begin a new chapter. Later, he met and married Pina, an Italian widow in Chicago with two beautiful children of her own, Rose and Paul. They welcomed a daughter, Cristina and together they raised their three children. All of whom were the core of their life focus and joy.

Emilio took great pride in what defined him: an Italian heritage, a men’s clothing designer with immense talent and being an entrepreneur and investor. He was a loyal and steadfast friend who loved to be social. He had a profound passion for music, especially opera, world history, playing competitive bocci ball, wine and Italian cuisine. He loved to sing and dance. Above all, Emilio loved the family that he dedicated himself to. His grandchildren were his most valuable gifts. When he was in their presence, he was in orbit.

Emilio is survived by his loving daughters Cristina (Brendan) McDermott, and step daughter Rose Johnson. His brightest stars were his grandchildren, Gabriello McDermott and Olivia McDermott, Steven Wright and Katelyn Wright. His step grandchildren Cory (Megan) Johnson and Angela Johnson Reier. As well as eight wonderful great grandchildren.

Emilio was preceded in death by his wife, Pina Gulino, his step son Paul Saporito, and his son-in-law, Dan Johnson.
